Description:

This project works to provide information on how territorial male ring-necked pheasants select territories in the Nebraska landscape, and how that habitat selection relates to what areas of farmland are being used as CRP. By using a set of land plots in the west to southwest rural area of Lincoln, NE between Lincoln and Seward, we can measure differences in land cover for territories of dominant males and sizes of female groups per dominant males, to access male territory selection and therefore better select and manage CRP registered fields for the purpose of increase pheasant population numbers via improve habitat quality as well quantity.
