Jarett Walter - Undergraduate Student

Jarett joined the Applied Wildlife Ecology & Spatial Movement (AWESM) lab in 2024 as a Cabela's Apprenticeship Undergraduate Researcher. He is currently pursuing his degree in Fisheries & Wildlife with minors in Rangeland Ecology and Environmental Education. He grew up on a farm and ranch in Southwest Nebraska and holds a lot of respect for agriculture producers, but was also taught how important it is to maintain the resources we have. Because of that, he has always been interested in how we can leverage the positive attributes of agriculture and natural resources to benefit one another. Jarett believes that oftentimes, we all forgot that we’ve got a lot more in common than we think. After graduating, he wants to continue into a career researching and educating others so that we can all come together to protect our natural resources and still ensure that we can feed an ever-growing population.
